Comment on 2012: Choosing Sides. by Media Lizzy

Clearly, you did not read nor comprehend my point. Once I set those things aside, Romney is the only candidate who has earned my vote. Santorum is not on the ballot in Virginia, and didn’t bother to get on the ballot – just like Newt. [...]

Comment on 2012: Choosing Sides. by Greybeerd

Based on your criteria as outlined here, looks like Rick Santorum more fits your model than does Mitt Romney. Strange that your criteria is how a man looks and not how he acts. Character is more than skin deep. [...]

Comment on 2012: Choosing Sides. by Peggy McFarland

I know this is corny, but when I read your comments about Romney, your challenge to the “Stepford” personna, it brought tears to my eyes. I truly long for a leader who is sincere and good inside. We’ve had too many phonies and I need to know there are still good, honest, hard-working men in the world who sincerely care about this country. My 19 year old son was treated for a severe motocycle injury by a parapalegic resident practicing at the University of Utah. (We live in Oregon, but the accident occured in Utah.) And guess who picked up the tab to help this doctor complete medical school after his paralyzing ski accident [...]

Comment on Enough Said: I Act for Sudan by Matt Musson

When you say Sudan’s genocidal regime should be held accountable – are you suggesting it’s time for armed intervention? Regardless, unless the Sudan problem is address soon, it will be overshadowed with the coming disintegration of many Arab Spring nations. Unfortunately, several African countries are one bad grain harvest in the Ukraine away from starvation of Biblical proportions. We all know Tunisia is on the brink – but Egypt (which imports 1/2 of its food) has seen an upheaval that has killed tourism and threatens to curtail trade with their single biggest partner: Israel. [...]

Comment on Beautiful, Successful and Hated by monsieurwhite

The worst thing about the people who find some kind of problem with beautiful people is that they will find exactly the same problem with ugly people. Shallow. They base the view on looks. That is all. C’est tout [...]

Comment on Qaddafi, Protesters and Generational Warfare by Matt Musson

I think this was an insightful posting. But, I am not sure how the fall of communism fits into it. Did the boombers defeat the Soviet Union with Levis, Rock and Roll and satellite broadcasts of ‘Dallas’? [...]

Comment on Beautiful, Successful and Hated by superbadkitty

Surfed in while Googling information on Carla Bruni and am both surprised as well as pleased that finally someone out there has the wisdom and insight to write an article on issues which are seldom mentioned, let alone understood. It’s hard to be beautiful. Even harder to be beautiful AND intelligent AND talented. People like us are either loved or hated and I find it particularly unfair especially when I am humble and always place myself below others in a social setting (stupid me – it rarely makes a difference). [...]

Comment on Ten Years Hence: The 2,996 – Justin Molisani by Kim McKeon Vargo

I went to Brielle Elementary School and Manasquan High School with this gentle giant of a man. “Jud”, as we knew him, was a kind hearted individual, a tough competitor on the football field and a friend to many. He will always be remembered fondly by myself and our classmates. His bravery and selfless actions on 9/11 are no surprise. God bless him in heaven and his family here on earth [...]

Comment on The 2996: Justin Molisani by Debi Tirrell

Paul, Your memories of Jud made me smile. I never met him tho i have a worn a Mercy Band Bracelet w/ his name on it for many years now. I did alot of research to find out who he was. I was lucky to have contacted many friends & family of his, and in 2005 I flew to NJ and met with his father Justin Sr, and to this day he & I are still very close. We went to the Memorial Gardens in NJ, such a beautiful place & peacefull [...]

Comment on President Obama on Israel by Marc

Obama has so little respect for Israel. He will do nothing to stand by them. http://msmignoresit.blogspot.com/2011/08/thank-obama.html He stood back and did nothing in 2009 when citizens in Tehran were demanding freedom. He did nothing in Egypt. He continues to do nothing in Syria. [...]

Comment on My take on the death of Amy Winehouse by Diane Valencen, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H [Journ.], ArF J., M.F.

One of the biggest problems that American Progressives and American conservatives have is a lack of communication. Nowhere is that more apparent than in the past few years with the Heath care bill and now with the debt ceiling crisis. I don’t know what conservatives want and this is a big part of the problem. Over the course of the rest of the day, I will be posting this question on 100 conservative blogs as well as at media outlets in comments: “It is 2013, you have a supermajority in both the House and the Senate and a true conservative GOP president. [...]

Comment on Day 33. Hunger Strike. by hoboduke

Your focus on helping the helpless is important work. Don’t see how dieting does anything, unless you got commercial news media putting you on television. There are more direct intervention options by taking action. Our president won’t bother doing much unless there were oil wells in the area to protect. [...]

Comment on Rape in Congo: Don’t Look Away by Gail Kent

I have been looking for partners to begin a Congo fundraising project in Hampton Roads. I attended a forum in Richmond recently for the Panzi Foundation, a hospital in Congo that rehabs women who have been raped there. They also have a traveling art exhibit, which was shown at the Holocaust Museum in Richmond. They are looking for locations all over the country, as well as fundraising projects. I’m open to other ideas, as well. [...]

Comment on Playboy Writer Guy Cimbalo Shares Top 10 Republican Women He’d like to Rape by Jermzy

Why would you hate someone for their political views alone? I’m a Republican and I’m shocked that this man would hate, let alone “hatefuck”, conservatives purely because he’s liberal. That may be one of the most ignorant thing s Ive ever heard. Also if he really does hate them, why would he want to have sex with them still? That’s ridiculously shallow. [...]

Comment on Budget Schism: Political Fortunes vs. Foreign Aid, Abortion & the US Military by Paul William Tenny

So there it is. The president and his Democratic majority in the United States Senate are willing to go to any length to protect federally funded abortion – at the expense of those who provide such freedoms – than do the right thing. Our Armed Forces paychecks should not be a pawn of political interests. Two points: 1. [...]

Comment on An era ends, Usama bin Ladin is gone by hoboduke

Okey the most eligible terrorist is now gone with 5 widows! 5 wives? Is that sort of like a harem? At least the 4 other wives were bright enough to avoid living in that dump called a palace. Was there a bride 6 imminent? If the CIA talked to his other wives, then they would have helped get him caught quicker. [...]
